Who we are and why~

The mission of this Christmas event:

The first and most important is to celebrate and teach others about Christ's birth.

The second is to share German culture and traditions with friends and family.

And thirdly to support and advertise small businesses in Central Illinois!

The owners of Edgewood Farms have been in the community for over 10yrs. Before moving to the Atwood area the Morfey’s lived in Germany for 5 years and fell in love with the culture and traditions, especially the food. Christmas Markets were a huge part of the holidays and a great way to celebrate Christ's birth, homemade goods and quality family time! German Christmas markets are known all over the country and are mostly in bigger cities. But while the Morfeys lived in Germany their small town of 50 people and 300 cows, hosted their first ever Christmas market ran by the Billen family. The market itself was hosted right in front of the Morfeys house and they even ran their own booth. Finally ten years later they are making this dream a reality and bringing a little bit of Germany here to Illinois!.

  • Historically they are in town squares of large cities in Europe. Streets, pedestrian malls, public buildings, and shops are all decorated with lights and Christmas trees. Vendors sell Crafts and homemade goods. There are more food vendors than you can count and always some type of live music and kid activities. The only difference with our Market is we are right here in Central Illinois.

  • German food and drinks like nothing you’ve ever tasted, live music from local musicians you love and may know. Crafts and homemade goods by vendors of small businesses in this area. You’ll see Santa and Mrs. Claus, Live Nativity and so many great photo scenes to get those awesome holiday photos.

  • This three day Christmas Market is like nothing in our area. Edgewood farm is bringing a little piece of Germany to this rural community with music, food and homemade goods. The closest German Market is in Chicago and for us here in Central Illinois we deserve something closer and that supports our local small businesses.
